Transport sector bounces back

THE transport sector in Pangasinan is slowly bouncing back following the recent series of roll backs in the price of fuel.

This was reported by Bernard Tuliao, president of the the Alliance of United Transport Organizations-Provincewide (AutoPro), who said the series of price roll backs resulted in increased daily earnings for jeepney drivers and operators.

“They (jeepney drivers) are able to bring home more income from the rollbacks on top of the approved new fare rate of P11 minimum fare, from the previous minimum fare of P9,” Tuliao said.

Because of the improved situation, most if not all of the jeepneys that opted to temporarily stop their operations are back on the road and are looking forward to earn more with the start of the school year. (104.7 IFM-Dagupan)
