EVEN as President Bongbong Marcos has   taken more drastic steps to stop smuggling of agricultural products, the Samahang Industriya ng Agrikultura (SINAG) also revealed a modus on fake fertilizers that added to the woes of the farmers.

Engineer Rosendo So, chairperson and founder of SINAG, said 10 fertilizer brands have already identified as ‘fake’.

With this revelation, PBBM also ordered the tracking of the individuals behind the fakes.

So said the ‘fake’ fertilizer brands advertise 14 percent content of chemicals when it has only 2% content.

He added the ‘fake’ fertilizers are already being sold to barangays and to unsuspecting farmers directly at cheaper rates but still are not effective. (Ahikam Pasion)
