Power rates to go down in August billing
FOR DECORP, CENPELCO CUSTOMERS
POWER distributors throughout the province of Pangasinan have released advisories in favor of lower charges come August billing.
Dagupan Electric Corporation (Decorp) on Tuesday, August 16, said P0.2024 per kilowatt hour will be reduced from the current generation charge of PHP 8.2604/kwh, meaning Decorp’s August billing, will reflect P13.9487/kwh.
Distribution, supply, and metering charges, however, since 2015 will remain unchanged.
Central Pangasinan Electric Cooperative (Cenpelco) will also reduce charges, from last month’s P10.8175/kwh to P10.7797/kwh for its generation charge. But its power rates will remain estimated at P16.8/kwh to PHP 16.9/kwh.
In contrast, the Pangasinan I Electric Cooperative (Panelco I), will increase its generation charge. Residents of Western Pangasinan will be charged P11.7398/kwh, higher than P2.474/kwh last July.
Effectively, Panelco I will charge P17.8566, vs July’s P14.6955 as its power rate.
The management of Panelco I I said the higher generation rates are due to coal supply problems being experienced by its supplier, the Masinloc Power Partners Co. Ltd. (MPPCL), a coal-fired power plant.
PANELCO III has not posted any updates in the meantime. (Ahikam Pasion)
