THERE were 407 applicants hired on the spot in the jobs fair conducted by the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of the province, along with the Technical Education Skills and Development Authority (TESDA) of Pangasinan.

Rachelle Ragundin, supervising labor employment officer of PESO, said most of those hired were from among hundreds of job applicants who trooped to the PESO Compound at Capitol Complex in Lingayen and those who applied for the positions of production operator, engineers and service crew. Ten local employment companies and two overseas employment agencies offered jobs to applicants who came from different parts of the province.

In this jobs fairs, applicants were given free haircut, manicure, pedicure and massage by PESO.

In addition to this, a one stop shop was opened by Social Security System, Pag-Ibig and PhilHealth for the benefit of job applicants.

The jobs fairs coincided with the holding of the TESDA World Cafe of Opportunities, one of the activities lined up during the celebration of National Tech-Voc Day. (104.7 IFM-Dagupan)
