THE Department of Science and Technology (DOST), through its Provincial Science and Technology Center (PSTC) in Pangasinan, conducted a training on chicken meat processing at Barangay Palisoc in Bautista town.

The training for the benefit of the Palisoc Women’s Association, is part of the DOST’s Community Empowerment thru Science and Technology (CEST) program to further develop the skills of the members in meat processing.

The DOST also trained the members last year on proper handling and accurate methods to process pork meat products such as pork tocino, pork longganisa, siomai, and embutido.

The training on chicken meat processing will enable members to have additional products such as chicken tocino, chicken longganisa, and chicken nuggets.

During the activity, participants were trained from the preparation of tools needed for the process, washing and deboning the chicken meat, and measuring the ingredients for each recipe.

The participants also received a meat grinder, food processor, mixing bowls, and impulse sealer that they can use in their production. (PIA Pangasinan/EMSA)
