More jeepney drivers return to streets

GOOD news for the commuting public!

More jeepney drivers in the province have resumed servicing their routes after three consecutive drop in fuel prices.

This after latest dip fuel prices last Tuesday with diesel down by P2 per liter, gasoline by P5, and P0.70 centavos for kerosene.

However, the PHP2 fare hike is not expected to be rescinded any time soon.

Bernard Tuliao, president of the Alliance of United Transport Organization Provincewide (AUTOPRO)-Pangasinan, said 100 jeepney drivers who earlier reduced their operating hours or totally cut off their jeepney work have returned to their regular operating hours.

The jeepney drivers continue to hope that diesel prices will further slide down.

The Department of Energy said the continuous rollback is due to the lowering oil price in some developments in the world market. (Ahikam Pasion)
