Over 16K jobs offered in region’s Kalayaan Job Fair
A TOTAL of 16,230 job vacancies locally and overseas were offered to job seekers during the Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office 1 (DOLE RO1) Kalayaan job fairs held simultaneously in four job sites on June 12.
The job fair venues in Pangasinan were in Nepo Mall in Dagupan City and Don Leopoldo Sison Convention Center in Alaminos City.
While the other two venues were in Candon Civic Center in Candon City, Ilocos Sur, and CSI Mall in the City of San Fernando, La Union.
Out of the 2,507 registered applicants who flocked to the four job fair sites in the region, 224 were hired on the spot (HOT), while 861 were near-hire at the end of the job fair.
The vacancies were pooled from 128 employers, where 11,698 local jobs and 4,532 overseas job vacancies were up for grab.
Some of the local jobs offered were technical associate, cashier, customer service representative, production associate, financial advisers, merchandiser, and junior microfinance officers.
Meanwhile, among overseas job vacancies offered were factory workers, administrative assistants, massagers, heavy equipment operators, administrative assistants, hair stylists, and receptionists.
Coinciding with the Independence Day celebration, DOLE RO1 also staged the Project Angel Tree, in which 150 child laborers were given educational and health kits as part of the World Day Against Child Labor. (Vjnhyl Pondivida)
