DOST implements iSTART program in Sual

THE Department of Science and Technology (DOST) in Ilocos awarded equipment to two associations in Sual town as part of the implementation of innovation, Science, and Technology for Accelerating Regional Technology-Based Development (iSTART) program in the area.

DOST provided an organic fertilizer granulator worth P275,000 to the Matico Farmers Swisa Inc. and multi-commodity solar tunnel dryer worth P313,600 to the Sual Dried Fish Vendors Association on May 5.

The organic fertilizer granulator is a technology fabricated by Best Mark Agro Industrial Manufacturing Corporation, accredited fabricator of DOST-Industrial Technology Development Institute (DOST-ITDI) while the multi-commodity solar tunnel dryer is fabricated by Genlex Trading OPC, an accredited fabricator of PhilMech.

After the awarding ceremony, the representative of Best Mark Agro Industrial Manufacturing Corporation demonstrated the proper use of the granulator machine to the members of the Matico Farmers Swisa Inc. while Ruel Torres of Genlex Trading OPC gave an orientation on the proper use of the multi-commodity solar tunnel dryer for members of Sual Dried Fish Vendors Association.  (PIA Pangasinan/ AMMB)
