THE Social Security System (SSS) Alaminos Branch launched the ‘Run After Contribution Evaders’ (RACE) campaign recently to create higher awareness towards employer obligation with the Social Security Law and to intensify SSS collection efficiency, thereby providing rightful SSS benefits to employed individuals.

To underscore the campaign’s importance, SSS officials visited nine identified delinquent employers in Alaminos City and were given written orders to inform them of their responsibility to comply with Republic Act 11199 or the Social Security Act of 2018. They were also offered programs of SSS that will help them pay their contribution delinquency in the most convenient way possible.

Jose Altre, branch head of SSS Alaminos Branch, said SSS offers remedies to help employers conveniently settle their contribution delinquency through the ongoing Pandemic Relief and Restructuring Program 3 (PRRP 3) or the Enhanced Installment Payment Program which offers flexible payment terms ranging from nine to 60 months depending on the total amount of obligation.

Employers with approved PRRP 3 applications with P50,000 delinquency are given nine months to settle their obligation; 12 months for the delinquency of more than P50,000 up to P100,000; 18 months for over P100,000 to P500,000; 24 months for above P500,000 up to P2 million; 36 months for more than P2 million up to P5 million; 48 months for over P5 million to P10 million; and 60 months for more than P10 million.

“The Enhanced Installment Payment Program will run until November 22, 2022,” she said.

Delinquent employers are given 15 calendar days from the date of the SSS’ visit to settle their legal obligations at the SSS Alaminos Branch office.

He said, “Otherwise, appropriate legal charges shall be filed against them.”

There are 5,075 employers registered under the SSS Alaminos Branch; 3,447 are non-compliant employers with combined contribution delinquencies at P34,849,316.99, affecting 12,512 SSS members.

The SSS Alaminos Branch covers Alaminos City and the municipalities of Mabini, Burgos, Anda, Bolinao, Bani, Agno, Dasol, Infanta, Sual, Lingayen, Labrador and Bugallon. (PIA Pangasinan/AMMB)
