48 NURSES GET UPGRADED

THE Sangguniang Panlalawigan corrected a discrepancy in the salary grade (SG) of nurses in 14 provincial government hospitals where Nurse I and Nurse II are in the same salary grade in compliance with the Department of Budget and Management Circular No.2031-series of 2021.

SP Resolution No. 2894 finally raised the position of Nurse II to SG 16. Fourth District moved by Board Member Jeremy Agerico Rosario, given the report that Nurse I and Nurse II have been lumped together under SG 15.

Janet Asis, Pangasinan Human Resources Officer, explained that Nurse I in the 14 provincial government hospitals used to be in SG 11 but there was a guideline from the Supreme Court on a decided case upgrading the salary grade of Nurse 1 to SG 15, the same SG of Nurse II.

To correct the discrepancy, the Department of Budget and Management issued the budget circular raising the salary grade of Nurse II to SG-16 last August, effective June 1, 2021.

Asis said there are 48 personnel holding Nurse II position, from a total of 105 nurses in all the 14 hospitals of the province, who will be benefited by the move.

She said the highest position of nurse in the provincial government is Nurse V for the chief nurse at the Pangasinan Provincial Hospital while the chief nurse in district hospitals is Nurse IV and the chief nurse in community hospital is Nurse II. (Leonardo Micua)
