Capitol’s “Valueless records disposal” program hailed
THE Pangasinan provincial government is the most organized in records disposal.
This was the assessment of the National Archives of the Philippines (NAP) when it observed the strict compliance in records safekeeping and legal records disposal during the conduct of the 6th Batch of Synchronized Disposal of Valueless Records on October 16 at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center (NRSCC) Gymnasium.
NAP Representative Jhoana Marie M. Ong, with Danilyn Reyes, the official buyer of disposed records, supervised the disposal of records.
According to Program Director & Provincial Archives and Records Center (PARC) OIC Irmina Francisco said of the goals of PARC is the effective management of the records center as well as the legal disposal of valueless records and the provincial government under the administration of Governor Amado Espino III has been a consistent compliant to all the policies of the national government.
The PARC chief expressed her gratitude to the NAP for being supportive to the Pangasinan provincial government throughout the years.
The disposal involved the participation of Provincial Governor’s Office (PGO), Provincial Budget Office (PBO), Provincial Library Office (PLO), Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), Human Resource Management and Development Office (HRMDO), Provincial Engineering Office (PEO), Provincial Veterinary Office (PVO), Bids and Awards Committee (BAC), Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office (PTCAO), Capitol Resort Hotel (CRH), Provincial Employment Services Office (PESO), Lingayen District Hospital (LDH), Pangasinan Provincial Hospital (PPH), Western Pangasinan District Hospital (WPDH), Mapandan Community Hospital (MapCH), Manaoag Community Hospital (ManCH), Bayambang District Hospital (BDH), Umingan Community Hospital (UCH), and Eastern Pangasinan District Hospital (EPDH).
From the 11 offices, a total of 1,787 kg. of records were disposed. Meanwhile, the eight hospitals accumulated a total of 4,053 kg. of documents resulting in the disposal of 5,840 kg. The funds collected from the sale of the disposed records will then be handed to the Provincial Treasury Office. (PIO/WR /SMDG)
