THE full potential of Pangasinan in in agriculture and agribusiness was recently cited by Department of Agriculture (DA).

DA Secretary William Dar said he is optimistic about Pangasinan’s major role and big potential in the agriculture during the DA-Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) Roll-out of Swine Repopulation, Rehabilitation and Recovery Credit Program on July 22 at the Sison Auditorium.

Dar made the remarks as he pledged to help continue to strengthen the partnership between the DA and the provincial government led by Governor Amado Espino III.

In response, Gov. Espino expressed his gratitude Secretary Dar for his frequent visits to Pangasinan and for all the financial grants he delivered to the province, and to President Duterte for the national government’s support for the province’s farmers.

Meanwhile, the provincial government also received Php 38 Million-worth of power sprayers, African Swine Fever (ASF) Responders Kits and Initial Recovery/Sentineling Project from the Department of Agriculture to help in the recovery of losses suffered by the hog raisers through repopulation of swine in the province.

Pangasinan maintained the zero ASF case record since February 2021. (PIO/JCS)
