THE construction of an access road in Bolinao town that will help improve the economic development in the area is nearing completion.

DPWH First District Engineer Marieta Mendoza said the construction of a 2.036 kilometer access road in Barangay Lucente I in Bolinao town leading to the Piccuban seaport is expected to be completed by September this year.

“Once completed, the road will shorten the travel time of residents when travelling from their community to the town proper. Locally-made Buri products and handicrafts, as well as aquaculture products are expected to be transported faster and more conveniently, improving the economic condition of the residents,” District Engineer Mendoza said.

Meanwhile, DPWH Regional Director Ronnel Tan said more than just providing economic improvement to the residents, the road will also improve the community residents’ access to different social services and facilities in the town.

“This will again contribute to the over-all development of the community residents,” Tan said. (PIA/VHS)
