MY CITY: Hon. Judge Laron decided in favor of Ms. Salayog absolving her of the case filed by my City for estafa in the case of the missing P11M recently. According to some insiders, the amount is P22M because, a week before Mayor BSL sat into office in 2001 – the syndicate struck for the second time and run away with another P11M – that makes it P22M.
If people can steal P 22M in my City “Ya akamuldagat tayon amin” – this puts us in bad light. Also, you expect people to pay their taxes correctly — of course not!! “Takewen da labat so katiw!” We’ve been doing our best to attract and entice businessmen to invest in our City — but this decision is very, very damaging. It puts us into square one. Dagupan, Takewan!!!
How can we get back the missing P 22M now . . . gone with the wind?
CORRECT SITE: The landing site of General Douglas McArthur is in Bonuan Gueset–in fact there is a monument erected at the back of Ivory Coast where I live. Unfortunately, the site is not well-kept, McArthur looks malnourished and his face and hands were painted in pink. Can you beat that? Dea Q.–do something about this?
GO FOR IT: Ret. Gen. Jose Calimlim A.K.A. Joe Cal to many of his friends is under heavy fire from smuggling syndicates who’ve been hurting in his anti-smuggling drive in SBMA. It’s been a common knowledge that Subic is the haven of smuggling since Tong Payumo was lording all over it, to the disgust of Senator Richard Gordon. This is the reason why PGMA has put our very own “JoeCal” to once and for all neutralize these syndicates and he is succeeding. You can never put a good man down.
ROSALES: The bus terminal, which centralized parking spaces for jeepneys, buses, has made Carmen very orderly. Sitting on a 3-hectare lot, it is envisioned to be similar to the DAU bus terminal or even better, says Mayor Ric Velo Revita. He and has considered the bus terminal as his flagship project for 2005.
ASINGAN: Mayor Guillermo P. Piso and the members of the Sangguniang Bayan of Asingan headed by Vice Mayor Carlos P. Lopez, Sr. –had unanimously approved resolution No.10 (S-2005) appointing LINIS PINOY to manage the operations of the town’s comfort rooms located at the public market and public plaza. The resolution was sponsored by Councilor Julita T. Orpiano and duly seconded by Councilor Melchor J. Cardinez, Sr.
Other who voted unanimously for the resolution are Hon. Evangeline P. Dorao, Hon. Darly John G. Apuyod, Hon. Proferio R. Tendero Hon. Edmundo L. Samilin, Hon. Roseller A. Viray, Hon. Ronaldo Matias A. Mangosong III, and Hon. Kristine G. Samilin.
MUSIC: I am an avid CHICAGO fan since 1967 when I saw their 35th anniversary concert in New York thru an MDVD –they’re still awesome despite their age and the “blowing” is superb. If my memory serves me right, the band members pursued their master’s degrees in music at the Julliand School of Music . . . Pots Soteera, the original vocalist who went on solo was missed during the concert. There are still four (4) original members of the band. Color my world is my favorite song by CHICAGO.
