Re: Baraan: Indictment “harsh and sweeping”

It was a casual day supposedly, a Friday November 28, 2014, the last day of a working day, the bright rays of sunshine kissing the soft undulating waves behind the throne of Princess Urduja. ___ A day when plans are made for the weekend by every working bureaucRAT away from the political wizzle-wazzle of the Capitolio.

THE DAY OF RECKONING . . .

In this festive mood at the inner chambers of the castle, suddenly came a knock on the door breaking the party-like atmosphere, which the Pareng Spines’ administration is accustomed to in proclaiming its political successes, and the presumed unrestricted “ascendancy” of Pogi, handpicked for the throne of Pangalatotland.

And lo and behold!, the long arm of the law appeared at the door bringing with it to settle the score, the order of summary dismissal … for Rafael “Excuses” Baraan – the provincial administrator, and for Alvin “Chipmunk” Bigay – a political lackey … from the Ombudsman.

CRUEL AND UNUSUAL PUNISHMENT . . .

To “Excuses” Baraan it could be a … callous and not so common indictment … to which he asserted innocence, and as usually done by any accused until proven guilty as charged.

However, it leaves a huge blot of suspicion on a man whose octopus-like arm extends deep not only in this “kingdom” of Pareng Spines, but also in his previous service in Dagupan City politics which is dubious in form and substance.

THE LAMENTATIONS OF PARENG SPINES . . .

It’s a gargantuan blow personally and politically to Pareng Spines, forcing him to shed tears in the abrupt departure of his trusted … sychopant … his Machiavelli, whose expertise in the machinations of the provincial government will be missed big time.

With Niccolo gone, Pareng Spines’ political plans will be altered by leaps and bounds. He would be like a … ship … losing its pilot and be left drifting in the unforgiving currents of the Gulf.
