Six drug dealers arrested in continuing war on drugs

FIVE drug dealers were arrested last week in separate buy-bust operations and one through the service of search warrant in line with the continuing war on drugs by the police in Pangasinan on order of P/Colonel Ronald Gayo, police provincial director.

First to fall at about 7:00 a.m. on February 17 was Vandolf  Taluban, also known as “Van”, 27, who was arrested by the police at the Pool Side in Barangay Poblacion Oeste in Dagupan City shortly after he sold 17 grams of dried marijuana leaves valued at P2,040 to an undercover cop. Seized from him was the marked P1,000 bill and a Suzuki motorcycle.

Arrested at 5:00 a.m. on February 19 was Manuel Martin, 29, farmer, when lawmen served a search warrant for violation of Republic Act 9165 at his residence in Barangay Balite Sur, San Carlos City. Seized from him were 0.267 grams of shabu valued at P1,000.

The third suspect, Warlito Amansec, 33, was arrested in a buy-bust operation coordinated with the PDEA in San Pedro Ili in Alcala town, midnight of February 19. Seized from the suspect was one plastic sachet he sold to an undercover policeman and the marked P500 bill. He was in further trouble when lawmen found a Cal. 38 revolver with three bullets in his possession.

Arrested in Sitio Namooran, Barangay Magsaysay in Alaminos City at about 8:20 p.m. on February 20 in another buy-bust operation was Rachel Pimentel, 40, a newly identified drug personality and a resident of Bonuan Gueset in Dagupan City.

She sold 4.5 grams of shabu in a sachet with a P16,500 street value. Seized from her was the buy-bust money of P500 bill, wallet and cellular phone.

Meanwhile, Paul Jefferson Batangas, 27, of Barangay Bari, Mangaldan was arrested in a buy-bust operation along Maramba Boulevard in Poblacion, Lingayen at about 7:30 p.m. on February 21 by operatives of the Lingayen PNP and Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit in coordination with the PDEA. Seized from him were 1.8 grams of dried marijuana leaves valued at P216 and the marked P500 bill.

Also arrested in joint operations conducted by different police units in Pangasinan and in the region was Myrna Gellido, 46, of Estrada Street in Urdaneta at 6:30 p.m. on February 23. She was arrested soon after she sold one sachet of suspected shabu weighing more or less 0.21 grams valued set P1,428 to a police poseur-buyer.
