THE Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) recently conducted its “Ligtas at Aktibong Pamayanan”, a disaster preparedness program, in Agno town.

The LAP program, a community-based flagship program of Gov. Amado Espino III launched in 2017, trains barangay folks in hazard-prone barangays in the province on disaster preparedness.

PDRRMO Chief Rhodyn Luchinvar Oro said barangays situated upstream of the Agno River are the first recipients of the LAP trainings this year.

The training program in Agno was participated in by barangay officials and volunteer workers of–Barangays Agno and Amistad, two flood-prone barangays in Tayug.

The discussion on flood risk reduction measure was followed by creation of a hazard map indicating areas and resources by the participants to be used as guide and protocol during disaster.

The two barangays also received flood hazard map, two gallons of alcohol, personal protective equipment, and vitamins.

Barangay Agno Captain Bernardo Lopez thanked Gov. Espino for the practical training and resources provided by the provincial government. (PIO/PJES)
