THE provincial government continues to prepare for the anticipated roll out of vaccination in towns and cities as experiences of cities in Metro Manila that already rolled out their vaccination programs are being closely monitored.

This was assured by Provincial Health Officer Anna De Guzman as she pointed out that the definite date for the roll out will be determined by the national government.

De Guzman said the initial list of 1,089,004 persons in the province as eligible targets (belonging to Priority Eligible Group A) for the vaccination has been submitted to the national government

In the Priority Eligible Group A are: 1) Frontline Health Workers (public and private hospitals), public health workers and LGU contact tracers, barangay health workers, and government agencies: DSWD, DEPED, DILG, BJMP and Bureau of Corrections; 2)Indigent senior citizens; 3) Remaining senior citizens; 4)Remaining indigent population; 5) Uniformed personnel (PNP, AFP, PCG, BFP and CAFGU).

Orientation and workshops for concerned agencies have been conducted in the past three weeks attended by chiefs of hospital, chief nurses, municipal and city health officers and public health nurses, health promotion officers, and AEFI responders.

Consultative meetings continue to be held to validate the vaccination micro-plans of towns and cities, including vaccination sites and logistic support.

Noting the level of resistance manifested in many towns and cities, the campaign for the demand generation for the vaccination in the community continues to assure the safety of the COVID-19 vaccine the donated Sinovac from China.

And, while the number of active COVID -19 cases in the province continue to drop, the provincial health office called for continuous compliance with the minimum health protocols by residents. (PIO//PJES)
