POLICE on patrol nabbed two men along Barangay Zone IV in Rosales town after mindlessly pointing a gun at the car behind them – a police car.

Authorities were patrolling along the highway of said barangay when they spotted two suspicious-looking men on board a pedicab being driven by Marvin Basing, 20, of Cabalaoangan Norte, Rosales.

When the pedicab was signaled from behind to stop, irked passenger Gregg Louise Quezon, 26 years old, resident of Zone IV, alighted and drew a handgun, and blindly pointed it at the people behind hm.

To his horror, he saw the policemen on board their mobile.

Police confiscated the pistol, which turned out to be a Pietro Berreta replica with magazine inserted, along with Quezon’s sling bag and cellphone.

Quezon and his unidentified companion are in police custody after charges in violation of Republic Act 10591, also known as the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition were filed against them.

A gun replica, also known as an ‘imitation firearm’, may be considered a real firearm when used in a crime, according to Section 35 of the RA 10591. (Ahikam Pasion)
