Police nab Labrador’s No. 1 ‘most wanted person’, 93 others

THE Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPPO) traced and arrested 28 ‘Most Wanted Persons’ and 66 others in the province during a two-day operation on Feb. 6 and 7 with the implementation of warrants of arrests against them.

PPPO spokesperson P/Maj. Arturo Melchor Jr. said the enthusiasm of the police stations in responding to the order of the new police regional director to serve archived warrants resulted in successful arrests of the 94 fugitives.

P/Brig. Gen. Emmanuel Peralta was recently installed as the new commander of the Ilocos Region Police Office on Feb. 2, and took over from P/Brig. Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr.

Among the arrested fugitives was 36-year-old Miguel Santos who was in hiding for almost 12 years. He is considered as the ‘No. 1 Most Wanted Person’ in Labrador town.

Santos was accused of violating R.A. 7610 or the Special Protection Against Child Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination, and his arrest warrant was issued on July 23, 2009 by a Regional Trial Court Branch of Lingayen.
