Liquor and cockfight ban in Bayambang lifted

THE mayor of Bayambang decided to lift the liquor ban and the suspension of cockfight operations in the town effective last week.

Mayor Cezar Quiambao signed Executive Order No. 09 series of 2021, however with the clarification that while liquor ban has been lifted, “drinking in public places is still prohibited effective immediately; drinking liquor is still banned in barangays with three or more COVID-19 active cases.

Also, it restricts the intake of liquor and celebrations with drinking sessions among family members of the household in the same household.

The order also said that duly licensed cockpit arenas are already allowed to operate effective Feb. 19 provided that public health protocols are strictly observed and neither selling nor drinking of liquor will be allowed in the cockpit arena.

The liquor ban in Binmaley has also been lifted since Feb. 16, except in bars and restaurants.

Also, the town has reimposed curfew hours from 9:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. based on an approved provincial ordinance. (Eva Visperas)
