Creation of Prov’l Blood Bank Facility OK’d

THE Sanggunian Panlalawigan approved the ordinance creating the Pangasinan Provincial Blood Bank Facility to ensure adequate supply of safe blood in the province.

The Provincial Ordinance No. 32-2021, “An Ordinance Creating the Pangasinan Provincial Blood Bank Facility and Providing Guidelines for the Collection, Processing and the Operation of Blood Bank and Blood Processing Laboratories” ensures the protection and promotion of the health of Pangasinenses “by providing a reliable blood service facility with professional, competent and adequate staff, equipment and resources to perform the required procedures for an efficient, adequate, continuous and safe blood supply.”

The ordinance, sponsored by Board Member Jeremy Agerico B. Rosario, requires the promotion of voluntary non-remunerated blood donation and linkages of local hospitals as well as facilities providing emergency obstetric care and health services with blood centers. (PIO/RRB).
