“If it succeeds, meaning there is no infection, then we can recommend to the President other degree programs if this initial batch succeeds in limited face-to-face,” he said.

He said President Duterte has approved limited face-to-face or physical classes in Medicine and allied health sciences courses in modified general community quarantine areas and general community quarantine areas where the universities send their students to COVID-19 hospitals.

He said CHED already approved some colleges and continues to inspect different universities that have manifested plan to hold face-to-face classes and have had discussions with their local governments.

“And so we are confident that many universities will be able to do limited face-to-face classes,” he said.

He said the conditions are for medical and allied health sciences 1) Whose students must be 20 years old and above.  2)  The subjects are those that cannot be delivered virtually especially hands-on Medicine, Nursing, Midwifery.  3) Health protocols must be observed. 4) The campus must be retrofitted. 5) Medical schools must coordinate with their local governments. 6) It is optional for the schools if they want to limit face-to-face, optional for students who don’t want to participate.
