Biker dies in hit and run
A 25-year-old man died in a hit-and-run incident in San Fabian town last Monday night.
Witnesses say the victim, Jomel Rivera, a resident of Barangay Alacan in San Fabian, was riding his bicycle along the national highway in the barangay when he accidentally lost his balance and fell on the pavement.
But a speeding still unidentified vehicle behind him failed to avoid hitting him and run over him. The driver of the vehicle did not stop and fled.
He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Region I Medical Center.
Police are currently viewing available CCTV footages in the area in hopes of identifying the vehicle.
Meanwhile, authorities cautioned all cyclists to ride defensively to avoid accidents. (Ahikam Pasion)
