Asingan’s TODA, KALIPI get P1-M livelihood package

THE Department of Labor (DOLE) Region 1 awarded a PHP 999,300 worth of livelihood assistance to the Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association (TODA), and Kalipunan ng Liping Pilipina (Kalipi) of Asingan town.

Outgoing DOLE regional director Nathaniel Lacambra, R 5th District Rep. Tyrone Agabas  and former Rep. Marlyn Primicias-Agabas recently awarded the said checks to Asingan Mayor Carlos Lopez Jr.

The town’s TODA has 100 members while Kalipi has 50.

The cash assistance was allotted for the purchase of 250 cavans of class A rice grains, 244 cavans of Class B rice grains, two trolleys, two weighing scales, and others.

Mayor Lopez said the town’s government requested the cash assistance for both TODA and Kalipi specifically for the establishment of Bigasan ng Bayan in the town to enable them to engage in business to help supplement their earnings during the economic crisis brought about by Covid-19 pandemic.
