Woman shot dead by retired US Navy
A 39-year-old woman was shot dead in Barangay Macayug, Mangaldan, last Wednesday afternoon.
The victim, Maria Theresa Ambas, was inside her house, when suspect Rommer Gonzales, 40, barged in and shot her several times that caused her to die on the spot.
Gonzales immediately fled after the incident on board a motorcycle.
Authorities recovered five empty shells from a still unidentified pistol from the crime scene.
He was then arrested in his house in Barangay Embarcadero hours later, after eyewitnesses positively identified him as the assailant.
Investigation showed Gonzales was a retired US Navy man and has had a relationship with the victim who gave birth to their son and has a new live-in partner.
