SP hails Alaminos City’s student filmmakers

THE provincial government extolled the talents of young filmmakers from Alaminos City for winning awards in the recently-concluded 2020 International Teen Short Film Festival (ITSFF) held in Beijing, China.

For their achievements, the provincial board recently passed Provincial Resolution No. 1893-2021 congratulating the entire cast and crew of the Layag Productions under the special program in Arts-Media of the Alaminos City National High School.

The ITSFF is a non-profit cultural exchange program for middle students, which is co-sponsored by Beijing Jingxi Culture and Tourism Co., Ltd. And Beijing Normal University Experimental High School aimed at enhancing passion and interest in filmmaking.

The board members said the award-winning film “Decalcomania” of the Layag Productions will serve as an inspiration and guide to other schools especially young talents in the acting and filmmaking profession.

The film “Decalcomania” (Parallel Universe), written and directed by Hannah Ragudos the Layag Productions bagged international awards, namely: Best Experimental Short Film and Best Editing.

The Layag Productions recognized by different film festivals in the country and in international market such as “Ana Bikhayr” (I’m Okay); “Sa Layag ng Bangkang Paurong” (Sailing Along the Waves); “Ang Himala sa Kamay ng Daang Tao” (The Miracle of the Hundred Hands); “Duruko” (Cheater); and Ruweda.
