A WOMAN was arrested by operatives from the National Bureau of Investigation – Dagupan District Office (NBI-DADO) last Monday after duping five victims of almost a million pesos.

NBI-DADO Chief Rizaldy Jaymalin identified the suspect as Remedios Pasiliao, of legal age, a resident of Barangay Embarcadero, Mangaldan.

The victims invested around P900,000 to Pasiliao’s alleged poultry business, promising them return of their investments with 40% interest.

However, after months passed and Pasiliao had no update on their investments, the victims found out that Pasiliao does not have a poultry farm business all along.

The victims then went and complained to the NBI-DADO, who in turn, entrapped the suspect.

Pasiliao was unable to produce nor return the invested money. While Pasiliao is under inquest proceedings, another complainant appeared to the NBI office, stating that the suspect ‘borrowed’ her jewelry, but hid from the victim afterwards.

Charges of estafa and attempted estafa have been filed against Pasiliao. (Ahikam Pasion)
