A 55-year-old man was shot dead in an argument with a Barangay Kapitan (village chief) over ownership of a piece of land in Barangay Pandan, Alaminos City last Thursday, January 21.

The victim, Alfred Pasamic, got into a heated argument with Barangay Kapitan Timoteo Giron after the latter claimed to have the right over a land facing the Hundred Islands National Park.

Their argument ended in a scuffle Thursday noon during which time Giron contacted an armed unidentified companion and ordered the latter to shoot Pasamic dead.

Pasamic sustained several gunshot wounds in his body, and was rushed to the hospital, but was declared dead on arrival.

Giron was arrested by authorities, while the gunman is still at large. (Ahikam Pasion)
