THE Dagupan City government is set to purchase 10-million worth of COVID-19 vaccines.

According to City Mayor Marc Brian Lim, he sent a letter to the national Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF), stating the city’s intent to purchase vaccines approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the city’s residents.

Lim said he will consider to purchase vaccines made by pharmaceutical companies Pfizer, Moderna, or AstraZeneca, due to its high efficacy yet lower cost, compared to the Sinopharm’s vaccine from China being endorsed by government officials.

Lim said as soon as the city gets hold of the vaccines, the frontliners will be the priority, then the senior citizens. (Ahikam Pasion)
