BFP: Strict enforcement of firecracker law done

By January 5, 2021Inside News, News

THE Dagupan City Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) conducted regular patrol around the city to ensure no illegal firecrackers would be sold for the New Year revelry.

Fire Chief Inspector Bryan Pocyao, Dagupan BFP fire marshal, said 21 stalls selling firecrackers stationed along Burgos Street, were given permits to sell.

To ensure the safety of the customers and compliance with the law, the BFP regularly  conducted activities in the area.

Wala pong warning-warning, tatanggalan po naming ng permit ang mahuhuli po naming na nagbebenta po nito”, Pocyao warned.

While the city government issued permits to sell firecrackers, it did not designate firecracker zones in the barangays to prevent residents to gather in one place  in compliance with physical distance protocol set by the IATF.

Pocyao urged the public to stop using firecrackers until the eve of the December 31. (Ahikam Pasion)
