TWO sitios of Malasiqui were placed under lockdown by Mayor Noel Anthony Geslani from December 16-30.

Ordered locked down are Sitio Along the Riles in Barangay Gomez and Sitio Paturo in Barangay Wares.

Geslani said the lockdown as well as the subsequent contact tracing and testing was done to prevent the spread of COVID-19, after two residents of the two sitios tested positive for COVID-19 based on the report of the Department of Health.

The mayor ordered the prohibition of entry and exit to and from the affected areas by any person except for medical and humanitarian reasons to be determined by the local health officer.

The chief of police and the barangay chairmen were directed to enforce strict home quarantine among the sitio residents and to prohibit social gathering in their sitios.

The executive order directs the delivery of food packs to the houses and no drinking of liquor for the entire duration of the lockdown.

Mayor Geslani also ordered the town health officer to conduct Reverse Transcription  Polymerase Chain Reaction  of the close contacts of the affected persons. (Leonardo Micua)
