Three speeding riders died due to miscalculation

MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENTS

A construction worker died, while his backrider was hospitalized after crashing into an electric post in Barangay Guiguilonen, Mangaldan.

The victim, Jay-ar Serafica, 24, a resident of Barangay Amansabina, was driving a motorcycle along with Ronnie Suarez, 29, also a construction worker, when Serafica lost control of the wheel while negotiating a sharp curve and slammed into an electric post.

They were both rushed to the hospital, where Serafica was declared dead on arrival.

Still in Barangay Guiguilonen, 28-year-old helper, Erdie Boy Astadan, a resident of Barangay Calmay, died after he was run over by a truck being driven by Roberto Sinlao of Barangay Coliling, San Carlos City.

Astadan, riding his motorcycle, overtook Sinlao’s truck on the right side, but slipped. He sustained a severe head injury, causing his death.

In Binalonan, 56-year-old Loreto Bermudez, a resident of Barangay Guiset Norte in San Manuel town, died after his motorcycle crashed into a 12-wheel dump truck being driven by Freddie Zamudio, 39, from Tuba Benguet.

Investigation showed Bermudez, on board his tricycle, overtook the dump truck from the shoulder road and fell on the gutter along the Aloragat Bridge after he miscalculated the speed of the truck. (Ahikam Pasion)
