Three cops cited for honesty
THE mayor of Anda lauded the acts of three police personnel who turned over to him a wallet they found that contained P29,500 cash and other items.
Anda Mayor Joganie Rarang commended P/Sr. Master Sgt Angelito Soriano, P/Master Sgt. Algin Calatan Jr. of the Maritime Group- Regional Special Operation Team and Patrolman Benjo Balolong of Sual Municipal Police Station who found the lost item as they were proceeding to a local court in Anda for a hearing.
On Dec. 18, the three policemen noticed a thick leather wallet beside a motorcycle parked in the area.
They asked people around if they noticed anyone who might be looking for a wallet but the search was in vain
Failing to find the owner, the three proceeded to the mayor’s office to turn-over the wallet to Mayor Rarang.
The wallet was reportedly claimed the following day by a certain Nida Villamil. (PhilStar Wire Service/ECV)
