Pangasinan PNP on full alert vs. possible NPA attack

By December 27, 2020Headlines, News

ANTICIPATING possible attack by the New People’s Army (NPA) timed in during their 52nd anniversary last December 26, P/Colonel Ronald Gayo, police provincial director, placed the Pangasinan police on full alert.

Gayo said the full alert was ordered after President Rodrigo Duterte decided not to declare a ceasefire with the underground CPP-NPA during the Christmas holiday.

“Whether there is a ceasefire or not, we should always be on full alert,” Gayo pointed out.

He maintained that despite the clash between elements of the 702nd Infantry Regiment and the NPA in Mangatarem three weeks ago, Pangasinan remains insurgency-free.

Gayo has mobilized the two police mobile forces, one located in Eastern Pangasinan and the other in Western Pangasinan to intensify their patrol activities in a bid to thwart an offensive by the communist terrorists.

He said as another precautionary measure, he has deployed elements of the police mobile forces to complement the manpower of police stations that needed augmentation. (Leonardo Micua)
