Funeral parlors, village chiefs warned
SAN Carlos City Mayor Julier Resuello has reminded the barangay officials and funeral parlors to strictly enforce the health and safety protocols when providing funeral services to prevent the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) from further spreading.
In his Facebook live message on Thursday, Resuello cited the guidelines set by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) that interments must only be attended by up to 30 individuals and provided that they strictly observe physical distancing and wearing face masks and face shields.
He also urged motorcycle riders attending the interment to wear helmets and follow the IATF protocol on motorcycle riding.
“The city officials who have lost their loved ones followed the protocols. I hope the barangay officials will also do the same in implementing the guidelines. No one should be above the law,” Resuello said.
He warned funeral parlors of cancellation of their business permits if caught violating the protocols. (Jerick Pasiliao)
