THE provincial government conveyed its gratitude as it acknowledged the donations from the private sector and other public servants.

Recently, former 6th district Congressman and former Vice Governor Ranjit Ramos Shahani, director at the Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO), donated 80,000 pcs of surgical gloves, 15,000 pieces of face masks, and 2,500 nursing caps worth P865,250 for the use of medical health workers.

Funds for the donation were sourced from the Filipino-Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and personal funds of Dir. Shahani.

Earlier, the provincial government also received 14,000 pieces of face shields initially from Senator Sherwin Gatchalian. He sent another 131,000 pieces of face shields.

The first set of face shields donated by the senator were distributed to the frontline workers stationed at rural health units and to the provincial government employees, while the second donation is currently distributed by the PHO to all local government units in the province. (PIO/RRB)
