San Manuel bans videoke

SAN Manuel town have been peace and quiet from Monday to Friday after the town’s Sangguniang Bayan banned the playing of videoke/karaoke in the town to help young leaners focus and learn from online classes and those working from home due to the pandemic.

Mayor Kenneth Perez said that the ordinance was passed with provision for penalties:

P1,000; P1,500 and P2,000 for the first, second and third offense, respectively.

Perez urged barangay officials and police officers to implement the ordinance strictly.

Households planning to hold special occasions to celebrate are required to seek permission from both the mayor’s office  and respective barangays for proper guidance.

Earlier, Binalonan Mayor Ramon Guico Jr. issued an executive order banning videoke in his town for the whole academic year to free students from any distraction while studying and enable persons working at home without disturbance. (PhilStar Wire Service/ECV)
