Pangasinan PPO cited as region’s best in performance

THE Pangasinan Police Provincial Office has been cited as the best police provincial office in the region after receiving the highest rating for unit performance in 2020 by the Police Regional Office.

According to Police Colonel Redrico Maranan, Pangasinan provincial director, his command was given a converted total rating of 93.59% from 46.35% (50%) operational accomplishment, 47.25% (50%) in administrative and 935.92% (1000) total rating.

He said operational accomplishment is based on operations and campaigns against illegal drugs, illegal gambling, enforcement of special laws and Bayanihan Act (wearing facemask, face shield, social distancing and violating curfew hours), and implementation of Oplan Matang Agila and Oplan Balik Disiplina sa Kalsada, all aimed at reducing crime incidence to 65% in the province.

The administrative rating is based on the financial and logistics management of the MOEE, including the improvement and beautification of the PPPO building and ground, and Local Government Unit support to the PPPO.

Other PPO units’ ratings: Ilocos Norte PPO (92.39%), Ilocos Sur PPO (92.36%), La Union PPO (92.02%) and Regional Mobile Force Batallion 1 (85.13%).

The Pangasinan PPO was earlier cited as the region’s Best PPO and Best Provincial Director after winning five major awards: Individual Award, Special Award and Special Unit Award in the campaign against loose firearms, campaign against wanted persons, campaign against HIV, campaign against illegal drugs, illegal gambling.

It was also ranked second in the Best Police Provincial Office in Law Enforcement from 79 PPOs nationwide, second to Davao. (Nora Dominguez)
