Pangasinan is PH’s best in statistical development

PANGASINAN’S provincial government is cited anew as the 2020’s Best LGU Advocate in the country for its outstanding performance and contribution in statistical development.

This was bared by Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator Benita Pizarro who said Pangasinan received the same PSA award in 2018.

Pizarro said the provincial government was evaluated by the PSA central office based on its inputs and accomplishments in 2019

The judging was based on outputs, outcomes and impacts to the statistical activities of the youth (25%); clarity of objectives/messages and promotion of statistical awareness/literacy (25%); diversity and number of statistical activities (25%); extent of participation/coverage (15%); and, economy and ingenious use of resources (10%).

Along with the national citation, the provincial government also bagged the championship in the recent 31st National Statistics Month celebration regional level.

Pangasinan notched the first Hall of Fame award in the regional level in 2011 for winning three consecutive years (2008, 2009 and 2010) while the second was in 2017 for the years 2014, 2015 and 2016. The province was also adjudged the regional champion in the years 2018, 2019 and 2020. Hence, its third Hall of Fame stature in the region will be conferred in 2021.

The NSM regional contestants who represented Pangasinan with their specific rankings were: Virtual Jingle Singing (secondary)- Calasiao Comprehensive National High School, Regional Champion; Virtual Jingle Singing (tertiary)- PASS College (Alaminos City), champion; Virtual Poster Slogan Making (secondary)- Mark Diether Tinte; Virtual Poster Slogan Making (tertiary)- Lea Uson, 1st runner-up; Virtual Essay Writing (secondary)- Pristine Virginia Corpuz, 2nd runner-up; Virtual Essay Writing (tertiary)- Jose Luis Gonzales, Champion; Virtual Essay Writing (employee)- Mark Gerry N. Oblanca, 1st runner-up; Virtual Oratorical Contest (secondary)- John Angel Macairap; Virtual Oratorical (tertiary)- Lourine Mae Bonode, 2nd runner-up; Virtual Statistics Quiz (employee)- Pedro Z.
