PERSONS aged 20 to 30 (vicenarians) are among the highest infected group by the dreaded COVID-19 in Pangasinan.

This was confirmed by Provincial Health Office (PHO) Chief Dr. Anna De Guzman.

“COVID-19 infections in Pangasinan are high among the youth group aged 20 to 30 years old,” De Guzman said, adding that infection rate is common among males.

She said that those who are comparatively lower in infection are personsbelow 20 and above 60 years old.

As of 6 PM of Oct. 28, Pangasinan including Dagupan City recorded 1,236 recovered cases (or 75%) of the total confirmed cases of 1,635, with 358 active cases and 62 deaths.

De Guzman also noted that about 75-percent of the infected individuals were asymptomatic which explains the high recovery rate in the province.

“We are still recording cases of COVID-19 mostly are closed contacts of the infected individuals, authorized persons outside of residence (APOR) and front liners,” she said.

Meanwhile, the provincial government on Wednesday inaugurated the Molecular Diagnostic Laboratory and the Blood Bank situated at the Pangasinan Provincial Hospital (PPH) in San Carlos City. (Jeerick Pasiliao)
