INTERIOR and Local Government Secretary Eduardo Año lauded Gov. Amado Espino III for his effective handling of the COVID-19 situation in Pangasinan as he announced that Pangasinan’s status will remain a Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) from November 1 to 30.

Espino and Sangguniang Kabataan Provincial Federation president Jerome Vic Espino were guests at the October 27 edition of the Laging Handa program hosted by Presidential Communications and Operations Office Secretary Martin Andanar.

Ano noted the controlled active COVID-19 cases in Pangasinan, except in Dagupan City, “I’d like to congratulate the governor because of his good handling of the COVID situation,” he said. “In fact, the number of active COVID cases is already going down, except for Dagupan…one can see that the cases are going down,” Ano added.

Año expressed hope that Pangasinan will be among the first to defeat COVID-19

Espino said his Abig Pangasinan karaban program goes to different towns and cities in the provinces twice a week to bring provincial government services closer to Pangasinenses and help them cope with the economic problems caused by the pandemic.

These services include: Kabuhayan Palengke Karaban, Karagdagang Pangkabuhayan (Cash for Work), Kalinisan Karaban, Abig Laman ed Barangay (Mini-Kalusugan Karaban), Food production support including distribution of farming and fishing paraphernalia and seedlings, livelihood assistance, skills training and many others.
He said Pangasinan, being centrally located, is the cross road of travelers going to Baguio and Northern Luzon as well as Central Luzon. (Leonardo Micua)
