DepEd Dagupan: No to academic freeze

By November 22, 2020Inside News, News

THE Department of Education-Dagupan City Division sees no reason to conduct an academic nor a semestral freeze.

Dagupan City Division OIC Superintendent Aguedo Fernandez said teachers and students under her jurisdiction are already able to adapt to the requirements and the city was not directly affected by recent typhoons that hit the country.

Fernandez said although some annual DepEd competitions, i.e., athletic meets, and schools press conferences have been canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic, all the modules are in order so the education of the children can continue and there’s no reason for a semestral freeze.

In the meantime, only individual competitions, i.e., essay writing, and poster making, are allowed online, while activities requiring face-to-face contact are limited and discouraged.

He assured students and parents that enough modules have long been prepared and the Schools Division Office is ready to fill in any lack, if any, and so far, no major errors in the city SDO modules have been found. (Ahikam Pasion)
