Sta. Barbara plant records 91 new COVID-19 cases

THE recent surge in the spread of COVID-19 infection reported in Sta. Barbara town logged 91 new cases after a mass testing was conducted in a plant complex.

According to Mayor Joel delos Santos all those who tested positive were workers of a big plant in Barangay Tebag.

Most of the infected asymptomatic workers were sent to the town’s isolation facility.

Meanwhile, Executive Order No. 75-2020 issued by the mayor, directed zonal containment in the affected areas of Brgy. Tuliao (Zone 5), Brgy. Sapang (Zones 6 & 7), Brgy. Botao (Household in Zone 2), Brgy. Maningding (Households in Zones 5, 6 & 7), Brgy. Minien West (Households in Villa Sta. Barbara Subdivision), Brgy. Cablong (Household in Zone 3), Brgy. Leet (Zone 4), Brgy. Tebag East (Household), Brgy. Sonquil (Household), Brgy. Maronong (Household)

It also ordered the Enhanced Community Quarantine level in barangays Tebag West, Maticmatic, Banaoang, Carusucan and Ventinilla as a Strategic Response Protocol for the Next 14 days.

The plant’s complex is currently undergoing decontamination.

Meanwhile, Delos Santos ordered the reinstatement of the liquor ban in town. (Ahikam Pasion)
