SP’s market ocular inspection postponed

THE Dagupan Sangguniang Panlungsod failed to meet in session last Tuesday and Thursday over reports that seven city hall employees tested positive for COVID-19.

This was confirmed by City Secretary Ryan Ravanzo who said that there was no virtual session of the SP on Tuesday because there was no agenda for discussion, and again no session on Thursday because the councilors were scheduled to conduct an ocular inspection of the Magsaysay Market.

Ravanzo told The PUNCH the ocular inspection was intended to verify and act on the concerns earlier aired by fish vendors doing business at the Magsaysay Market but the ocular inspection was also postponed because of ongoing decontamination in the area.

It was learned that all public markets of Dagupan were being closed every first and last Thursday of the month for disinfection since after several vendors at the Magsaysay Fish Market tested positive for COVID-19. (Leonardo Micua)
