San Carlos City logs 2 new COVID cases

AFTER a week of no reported COVID-19 cases, the San Carlos City government recorded two new infections in the city last week.

The City Information Office confirmed on Monday, October 5, that the two new cases of COVID-19 in the city are a 53-year-old man in Barangay Lilimasan and a 25-year-old man in Barangay Calobaoan.

Both were among the workers infected in the operating plant in Sta. Barbara town.

The patients were both asymptomatic and have been quarantined in the city’s isolation facility and under the care of the City Health Office.

The families of the patients are now under strict home quarantine while health authorities in the city are conducting intensified contact tracing of possible individuals whom the patients had closed contact with and will be scheduled for reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) testing.

Meanwhile, the city’s 31st COVID-19 patient remains at a hospital and currently recovering.

Meanwhile, the city has logged 33 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 30 of whom have recovered. (Jerick Pasiliao)
