Motorcycle tandem riders dead in accident

WITHOUT CRASH HELMETS

TWO construction workers riding in tandem died in Malasiqui when they crashed into a barangay outpost in Barangay Guilig after hitting a stray dog.

Police reports said rider Urbano Pascua, 54, of Barangay Barang, and backrider Argie Macasieb, 40, resident of Barangay Guilig, traveling along the barangay road, when they ran over a stray dog that suddenly crossed the road.

Pascua lost control of the motorcycle and crashed into the iron grills and concrete wall of a barangay outpost beside the road.

The duo were rushed to a nearby hospital where Pascua was declared dead on arrival while Macasieb later succumbed to his wounds. Both were not wearing helmets when they met the accident.

Meanwhile, in Umingan, a 63-year-old woman was injured after being hit by a motorcycle while crossing the street.

Victim Mercedes Agatlao was crossing the barangay road in Barangay Cabaruan, when Jerry Amar, riding a motorcycle accidentally hit her.

Agatlao suffered a head injury, and currently under observation in local hospital. (Ahikam Pasion)
