MANHUNT by the police continues for a man who decapitated his best friend with a bolo in Barangay Trenchera in Tayug town last Sunday afternoon.

P/Major Arnold Soriano, Tayug police chief, said the victim Mario Costales, 47, was having a drinking spree with friends and the suspect Joel dela Cruz, his best friend who was celebrating his birthday, inside a house they are renting in Barangay Trenchera.

Despite being best of friends, the Costales reprimanded and humiliated Dela Cruz in front of everyone. Enraged, Dela Cruz left and returned with a bolo on hand, and began hacking Costales on his nape several times that caused his decapitation and death.

Dela Cruz ran off on his black motorcycle and has been in hiding to date.

Soriano said police stations in neighboring towns have been alerted of possible presence of Dela Cruz in their towns. (Ahikam Pasion)
