Lingayen logs in 2 new cases, one of whom died

TWO new COVID-19 cases were logged in in Lingayen last week but one died two days before the result of his RT-PCR could be known that he tested positive.

The fatality who died on October 12 and didn’t know that he was positive for COVID-19 was a 71-year-old man from Barangay Poblacion.

The Municipal Information Office of Lingayen reported that the fatality had a chronic kidney disease and had to be rushed to a hospital on October 12 where he died on the same day.

As part of hospital protocol before his admission, he was swab-tested.

He was the third COVID-19 fatality in Lingayen since the beginning of the pandemic.

The other newly confirmed COVID-19 positive cases in the town was a 41-year-old mother from Barangay Baay, who tested positive in both rapid test RT-PCR test before she gave birth.

The result of her test arrived on October 14 too.

With 25 active COVID-19 to date, Lingayen ranks fourth in the watch list of the Provincial Health Office.

Overall, the capital town registered 65 total COVID-19 cases, 39 of whom recovered and three died. (Leonardo Micua)
