REPAIR and renovation of school buildings in Pangasinan, La Union, Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte will continue even if the use of classrooms has been suspended and instruction has shifted to distance learning on account of the current pandemic.

This implementation of the program for the repair and upkeep of school buildings, in the absence of face-to-face classes come School Year 2020-2021 was confirmed by the Department of Education in Region 1’s Celso Manangan, head of the Regional Physical Facilities Section.

He said the year-round school site visitation program is ongoing to prepare for the possible return of face-to-face classes by providing a safe environment conducive to learning.

A group of engineers from the DepEd Regional Office I and the 14 Schools Division Offices has been organized to ensure that the quality and workmanship of the repair are strictly followed by contractors and the renovation of the school buildings are completed in accordance with the specifications and program of work.

The repair and maintenance program will cover dilapidated buildings (windows, roofs, doors, and electrical works) and of flooding in  school. (Leonardo Micua)
